Phantom’s dream, 2026 (work in progress)
Video on monitor with found footage, Elvira Cranner von der Lippe playing the ghost of the fictitious Erik, and reciting his dream, and manipulated found footage from the film noir “Death is a Caress” (1949) by Edith Carlmar.
The story is based on the trial against the murderer of my great-grandmother Randi, by her lover. Her son, my grandfather Rolf, was not included in the novel, nor the feature film. The dream scene is excerpted from the novel, it was also left out in the feature film. The dream scene is freely translated by me from Norwegian.
